Sparkly Pine Cone - DIY
Super simple and pretty. Let the toddler in you out, or actually let your toddler do it. Scribble the pine cone with elmers glue, then sprinkle with sparkles. I used silver ones, but you can use color or whine as well. A silver string was used to hang it in the window. So and so easy.

Advent Calendar 2013
The end result, all hung and ready.
Picked a variety of holiday fabrics and cut into randoms sizes to make pouches.
Started by sewing the tops.
Played around with some fun stitches. It was a fun way to get to know my new machine.
Then sewed all of one side. I find it faster to do one step on all pieces rather than complete one piece at a time.
Then set ribbon on one side.
And there, a nice little pouch for little gifts and things.
I did lots of sizes so each little thing finds it's right pouch.
Most of the things I got were tiny little things and all are meant for the whole family. Each child did not get their own advent calender, so the gift needed to be appropriate for the house as a whole. Some things I got multiple of, like soaps or hair pins, but generally I tired to get things that worked for the house as a hole.
